1963 FERRARI 250 GTE

Coachworks by Pininfarina, Left Hand Drive, Swiss Carte Grise

The launch of the Ferrari 250 GTE was the collaboration between Pininfarina and Enzo Ferrari to produce the most desirable Gran Turisimo with comfort, Space and large luggage capacity.
Not a widely known fact that two-seat models "were not my father’s favourite to drive," said Piero Ferrari. "He loved the 2+2 … this was his personal car; my father was normally driving himself, but he always had a driver with him, and a little dog. So for him, a two-seat car wasn’t enough."

#4397, a series three car which is differentiated from previous models by having the “big valve” engine making it "the most powerful all the 250 GTE’s" and exterior upgrades included the fog lights placed outside the grill to the inside of the headlights and rear tail lights also became one unit whereas on the first two series the tail lights where 3 bulbs in a vertical line.

This left-hand drive 250GTE Series III was formally in the long-term ownership of a dentist in Switzerland. We are advised the car was extensively restored between 2001 and 2005, benefiting from cylinder heads and valves overhauled with new guides, bead-blasted and repainted chassis and a complete retrim.

The 250 GTE is possibly the most undervalued of the entire Ferrari 3 litre Columbo engined cars available today and will surely enjoy a large premium on current market values in the near future.

This is a unique opportunity to acquire a beautifully prepared Ferrari.
