Ferrari 308 GTS chassis no. 24527 is 1 of just 184 examples commissioned for the U.K. right-hand drive market. Delivered new via Ian Anthony Sales LTD in 1978, the GTS was optioned with an Argento Auteil exterior over a luxuriously upholstered Blue interior trim, the same specification it wears today.
This 308 GTS is accompanied by a scrupulously assorted history which dates back to as early as 1978, with the car’s original order confirmation, and this 308 is also understood to have been owned by musician Tony Banks of Genesis. Present also are dozens of invoices, MOTs, receipts and early correspondence between the 308’s owners and Maranello Concessionaires.
The car was purchased in 2011 by its previous custodian who cherished the 308 GTS for 10 years. In 2016 the 308 GTS was subjected to a complete restoration by a marque specialist totalling nearly £46,000 and has subsequently benefited from being scrutinized and carefully ‘run in’. In 2021 the 308 was purchased by its current keeper who entrusted Furlonger workshops to service and prepare the car, which has since been used sparingly in dry conditions only. Having covered a total of just 56,000 miles this 308 presents in exceptional condition in all regards, and this is testament to the consistent no expense spared servicing that it has enjoyed throughout its life.
